The Kentucky Wildcats Tuesday Night Scratching Post
My cat is currently hiding in the basement, shivering in fear, because for the last 2 hours I have been screaming at my tv. For the first 36 minutes of the game UK looked like they were going to lose their 2nd game of the season, at times even looking like it was going to be a blowout. Dee Bost played out of his mind in helping Mississippi State take it right to the Cats, leading almost the entire game. But with about 5 minutes remaining in the game, our boys dug deep and found a way to win. Darius Miller knocked down a big three. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist converted a HUGE and-one layup that put the cats up by 2, their first lead of the game. And before Dee Bost could spell his entire name, we were up 7, ready to ice the game with Jarrod Polson sitting over on the bench looking as pretty as ever. It wasn’t the type of game we have become accustomed to watching this season, but it was exciting and exactly what this team needed. A physical, come from behind victory in a hostile environment on the road against a team that desperately wanted a signature victory. And the win couldn’t have come at a better time as all 5 NBACats playing tonight suffered losses, here’s how they did…
NBACats in Action
– The Detroit Pistons lost to
Lebron James that jerk Kyrie Irving and the Cavaliers 101-100 tonight, snapping their 3-game winning streak. Brandon Knight scored a team high 24 points in the loss while also adding 5 rebounds and 3 assists. In addition to elbowing former Alabama Crimson Tide player Alonzo Gee in the nose, Tayshaun Prince also added 7 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 block. A full post game recap awaits you here.
– Demarcus Cousins finally slowed down a bit tonight, only scoring 9 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 1 block in the Kings 102-120 loss to the Miami Heat. Cousins was plagued by fouls trouble (he leads the NBA in fouls per game) once again, and Miami cruised to their 7th straight victory. Chuck Hayes played 16 minutes, adding 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. For access to the full post game recap, click here.
– The 76ers lost to the Grizzlies tonight 89-76. Jodie Meeks had a quiet night, taking only 4 shots in 16 minutes of action. He finished with 6 points and 1 assist, knocking down 1-2 three-pointers.
We’ll be back in the mornin’ to bring you some news and laughs, so y’all come back now ya hear?
