Wednesday Morning Furball

Good Morning Big Blue Nation! It’s been a long morning here at the NBACats Hub. There will be no NBACats in Action today, they can be found below in the nightly scratching post.

-The folks over at NBA.com caught up with our man and 14 year vet Nazr Mohammed. In the  interview Nazr talks about practice and the possibility of the Thunder having the best defensive front court in the league. Check out the video here.

-John Wall continues to be a great ambassador for the University of Kentucky, and not just for the hoops squad. John wall has been on the recruiting trail trying to help out the football cats. Here is a little nugget from recruit Corey Cooper out of Raleigh NC that Coach Joker Phillips has extended an offer to be a part of his 2013 recruiting class.

“I’m pretty close friends with John Wall,” Cooper began. “He always talks about how crazy the fans are and it is just a real place. I want to learn more.”

-ENESANITY!!  The love for Kanter is growing and the people over at Grantland.com have ranked Enes 3rd among rookies this week.  They go in depth with his pick and roll defense, well here it is,

“Kanter is still a raw player in many ways. He is advanced, however, in one aspect of the game, and that is showing defensively on pick-and-roll plays. According to Synergy Sports, when Kanter shows against pick-and-roll ball handlers, teams score just 0.622 points per possession. That puts him in the top 15 percent of pick-and-roll defenders. Teams also shoot 32 percent and commit turnovers 24.4 percent of the time when Kanter guards ball screens. And Kanter’s sample size is significant — 45.6 percent of his defensive possessions include him showing against ball screens.”

I’ll leave you with his incredible pick and roll defense. Get ready for it!!!!!
