The Jeremy Evans Saturday Night Scratching Post

With John Wall sitting court side watching, former WKU standout Jeremy Evans won tonight’s NBA Dunk Contest. While it would have been nice to see Wall participating, Jeremy did not disappoint. On his first dunk attempt he wore a camera under his head band and while the dunk might not have been the best, it was something different and original. His second dunk, however, was something you’re going to want to see. With former Butler player Gordon Hayward providing two assists, Jeremy was able to jump over him while catching two basketballs and sent them both through the net in one mighty jump. It was by far the best dunk of the night and it was great to see it coming from a guy with ties to the state of Kentucky. Here is the video…

Skills Challenge

With two NBACats in the Skills Challenge I had high hopes that at least one of them would take home the title and although Rondo advanced to the finals, it was Tony Parker who ultimately walked away with the crown.

Rondo and Wall both posted identical times in the first round (32.8 seconds) so they were forced to go to a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, Wall couldn’t find his stroke, missing multiple tries to hit a jumper from the top of the key, and Rondo advanced. Rondo posted a good time in the final round of 34.5 seconds, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough. Here are some highlights from the competition…

If you are as upset as I am with the results I highly recommend you do what I’ve done. Close your eyes and imagine what this weekend would have been like with Billy Gillespie as our coach. I promise it will make you feel better.
