– First things first, the day we all knew would come has come as Anthony Davis has been named SEC Player of the Year, SEC Defensive Player of the Year and SEC Freshman of the Year following his spectacular season. He becomes the first UK player to earn SEC Player of the Year honors since NBACat John Wall did it in 2010, and he is just the third freshman to earn Player of the Year honors in league history in addition to Wall and Chris Jackson, who earned the honor in 1989. Davis also becomes the fourth Wildcat player to earn SEC Freshman of the Year honors and the third consecutive joining current teammate Terrence Jones(2011) and current He becomes the first UK player to earn SEC Player of the Year honors since John Wall in 2010. His honor as the top defensive player is the first for UK since NBACat Chuck Hayes won the award back in 2005. So let’s all join together in congratulating Davis for earning these tremendous honors.
– Apparently Dusty Mills has been hanging out with Wizards players, because John Wall thinks there is too much joking going on in the Wizards locker room. Following the Wizards loss to the Warriors last night, Wall had this to say, “we lost the game before we went on the court,” before adding ”too much joking in the locker room, too much joking through warm-ups.” I don’t know why Wall is getting so upset when his team loses, it just means they have a better chance of getting Anthony Davis. Perspective Mr. Wall…perspective.
– A couple of NBACat trade rumors…
Hoopsworld is reporting that the Magic will likely be trading Daniel Orton before the March 15th trade deadline. In 2 years Orton has never been able to crack the Magic rotation, so a trade would be a best-case scenarios for Mr. Orton.
Another trade rumor floating around involves Eric Bledsoe, as it is being reported that the Boston Celtics are showing interest in acquiring him. With the cluster of point guards on the Clippers roster, this would most likely work out best for Bledsoe, and it would create a new NBACat duo, assuming Rondo remains with the Celtics.
Let’s hope both of these guys find themselves in better situations where their talents can better be utilized.
– If you’re one of those people who have to have all of the latest basketball shoes, the John Wall Reebok shoe he debuted during All-Star weekend is now available.
