Rajon Rondo had 10 points, 13 assists, 6 steals and 3 rebounds tonight in the Celtics 79-76 win over the Hawks. Boston had a huge lead at one point in this game but the Hawks fought their way back into the game. The Hawks had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer, but Jeff Teague came up all air and no rim on his three-point attempt. I hope airballing shots at the buzzer doesn’t run in his family. Jodie Meeks scored 8 points and grabbed 3 rebounds tonight in the 76ers 105-80 blowout of the Bobcats. I watched this entire game and even though Meeks has publicly stated he his ok with the move to the bench, to me, he looks frustrated. Meeks didn’t take his first shot in this game until late in the 3rd quarter, and for much of the game his teammates seemed to ignore him on the court. Only when the game got out of reach did Meeks start getting opportunities to shoot the ball. After watching him start 102 consecutive games for the 76ers, I hate seeing Meeks come off the bench. He’s a dead-eye shooter who’s run into a bit of a shooting slump, but as soon as he finds his way out of it, I think Evan Turner is going to have to watch his back. The 76ers have now won 12 games by 20 or more points, the most by any team. A full post game recap can be found here.
The Orlando Magic took a beating tonight from the Chicago Bulls, losing 85-59. In addition to his team getting embarrased on national television, head coach Steve Van Gundy did not play Daniel Orton and only gave DeAndre Liggins 3 minutes. What a jerk. Liggins finished the night with 1 steal. A full post game recap can be found here.
