Kelenna Azubuike to sign with the Dallas Mavericks.
According to ESPN Dallas Fort Worth, Kelenna Azubuike has signed a contract with the Dallas Mavericks and is expected to play as early as tomorrow for the Mavericks D-league team, the Texas Legends.
Kelenna was traded to the New York Knicks in the deal that sent David Lee to the Golden State Warriors in 2010, but Kelenna never played a game for the Knicks because of a second surgery on his knee and was released in 2011. He has not played since the 2009-2010 season because of a knee injury.
The roster spot has opened up due to the Mavs releasing Sean Williams. Kelenna could play as soon as tomorrow for the Legends against the Reno Bighorns. Kelenna is a career 41% three point shooter, which could bold well for the Mavs who rank 20th in the league in 3 point percentage.
Lets all welcome Kelenna Azubuike back as an NBAcat. Go get ’em Kelenna.
