Demarcus Cousins likely to miss tonight’s game with suspension
Demarcus Cousins has improved a lot of things this season. His scoring average is up from 14.1 to 17.8 per game. His rebounding average is up from 8.7 to 10.9 per game. This entire season he has looked like a future All-Star and First Team All-NBA selection.
One thing he hasn’t improved thus far…his temper.
Sunday night Cousins picked up his 13th technical foul of the season after he got into it with Bismack Biyombo (Biyombo also received a technical foul). After the game Cousins was asked for his reaction to receiving his 13th technical foul.
“I wasn’t trying to get a tech but that’s part of being DeMarcus Cousins,” he said.
Cousins can appeal the technical (and likely will) but unless league officials rescind the technical, Cousins will be forced to sit out tonight against Nazr Mohammed and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
This actually could help the Kings in the long run. With Cousins on the bench, the Kings will likely lose and increase their chances of landing Anthony Davis or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Which would be awesome.
Maybe that was his plan all along…
