Sixers lose 103-91, Meeks plays just 10 minutes

(Even the Bulls were disappointed Meeks didn’t play more)

Well that wasn’t what I expected. After starting the game and playing 7 minutes, Jodie Meeks was benched late in the first quarter and didn’t return until late in the 4th quarter. Meeks looked a little shaky early on, but that’s still no reason not to play the best shooter on your team. He finished the game with just 2 points and 1 assist in 10 minutes.

Meeks averaged 24.6 mpg during the month of April, so why Doug Collins suddenly decided to drastically reduce his minutes is beyond me. Considering the Sixers lost the game, hopefully Collins will learn his lesson.

Derrick Rose had an outstanding game, coming up just short of a triple-double, finishing with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. He was injured late in the game and had to be helped off the court. It didn’t look good, but hopefully I’m just overreacting. He’s already missed 27 games this season, let’s hope he doesn’t miss any more.
