Celtics defeat 76ers 107-91, Rondo and Meeks both play well
After losing Game 2, the Celtics needed Rondo to have a big game in Game 3 and that’s exactly what he did. Rondo finished with 23 points, 14 assists and 6 rebounds while only committing one turnover in helping lead his Celtics to the 107-91 victory over the 76ers.
But what I was really excited to see was the play of Jodie Meeks. Meeks had his best game of the 2012 NBA playoffs, despite most of his minutes coming after the game had already been decided. Meeks finished with 13 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist. In one stretch late in the 4th quarter, Meeks scored 7 straight points for the 76ers, hitting a three from the corner, a fast break layup and converting two free throws.
Too bad Doug Collins didn’t play him earlier in the game, maybe the Sixers would have won.
With the win the Celtics now lead the series 2-1.
